Project Dinning Room
I sucessfully defended my thesis Monday, they passed me I just need to analzye one last set of data before its printed, no big deal. Tuesday I got to work on the Dinning Room, I've had the wallpaper for about a month and had the paint colors picked out but was being very mature and waiting till my thesis was done. So its done and now I've sanded and painted the trim and have the first coat of paint on the trim.
The interior walls of the china cabinet will be a light tan, below the chair rail will be a tan that is a shade darker than the print of the wallpaper and the trim is the background color of the wallpaper (BM white blush).
For the record, windows take forever to paint, those ladies and gentlemen are oldschool pane windows 16 pieces of glass there no cute little snap out panes for me.
AND I painted the ceiling, it's amazing how much brighter the room already looks.

A Break For Some Spring
I've been super busy with thesis stuff now that my "spring break" is over, getting ready to submit, defend and attend conferences. But the biggest news is . . . . drum roll please . . . The A4 is FIXED!!!!! I'm so happy to sleep until 8 with the shades down and to putz around making dinner in the late afternoon. It's so exciting to wonder around our yard to see what things are springing out of the ground . . .
I'm a little disappointed that this is the only bunch of crocuses in our yard
While wandering I always pause at the front door, a little hidden and needs to be repainted black, if the ladder is still up in the garage I might go look for the shudders that are supposed to be on the house.
Daffodils are by far my favorite part of spring, their resiliency blows my mind, they seem to say "I don't care what's in my way I am moving up." This particular bunch is on the inside of the front wall, probably the second most neglected area of our yard.
"Cute" little run-off stream the runs through our yard pretty much only our yard, our adjoining neighbors are either dry or flooded, I have this weird obsession with trying to get the leaves out of it to make it go faster, I'm sure the neighbors love that . . .
Last, the beginnings of the garden, tomatoes, peppers, summer squash, zucchini, herbs and flowers all getting ready to go outside, I started them last week and its so excited to watch them sprout!

Lab = Done !
WooHooo I'm pretty sure that I'm done with experiments for my thesis! Now I just need to buckle down with writing. Since I was fairly paralyzed by a migraine two days this week I haven't accomplished much of anything. I also love, love, love the Olympics and have wasted spent, a lot of time watching the games.
I did however try something new to clean the floors, which I am struggling to keep clean. Tea. I'm pleased with the results but displeased with the floors. Bottom line they need to be refinished and we need some area rugs. Currently, we have no rugs which is not helping to preserve the floors. Oh well, we'll get it together eventually.

just a few of the experiments we've run!

ugg
is this getting old for anyone else? Delays, delays and more delays. We are somewhere between the UDSA being out of appropriations, hating the mortgage broker and an FHA loan. Here are the basics:
Apparently the USDA approprioations for mortages are out of money but they get their money for the next fiscal year Oct 1. The USDA loan does not require a down payment and is something like 102% financing.
I have hated the broker since he "forgot" we needed the lead test, had the lead test been done at the appropriot time maybe the USDA wouldn't have been out of money by the time we got to them!!!!!!
The FHA loan requires a down payment (which we can still do) and I have been told we definetly will not be able to afford a dog with this option. BUMMER!
Bottom line: My thesis proposal is due in less than 4 weeks. I need a desk/command center/office place I can set up my keyboard, mouse computer, etc. sit down and "bang it out" because the current life set up is anti-thesis progress.
