Lab = Done !

WooHooo I'm pretty sure that I'm done with experiments for my thesis! Now I just need to buckle down with writing.  Since I was fairly paralyzed by a migraine two days this week I haven't accomplished much of anything. I also love, love, love the Olympics and have wasted spent, a lot of time watching the games.

I did however try something new to clean the floors, which I am struggling to keep clean. Tea. I'm pleased with the results but displeased with the floors. Bottom line they need to be refinished and we need some area rugs.  Currently, we have no rugs which is not helping to preserve the floors.  Oh well, we'll get it together eventually.

just a few of the experiments we've run!

More Snow!

So we were supposed to get that "huge" snow storm last week, they cancled school, Bruce left work early and we got a pathetic 4 inches. Yes 4 inches is pathetic. But this Tuesday we awoke to a winter wonderland 4 inches in the morning and at least another 8 through the afternoon and evening. Bruce did leave work alittle early but QU didn't close until 5pm! I like the snow its pretty, and I love taking pictures of snow at night.  I was going to trudge my new tripod into the back yard and take some pretty photos but I got snow in my boots playing with Kenny (who loves the snow). So this one from the back door at dusk will have to do.

Manly Man

Apparently when working on one's car it is important to be as manly as possible.
On closer examination this includes: smoking cigars, not shaving and not getting regular hair cuts during the duration of the work.

I know it doesn't look like it but he says one more day of working on it and it should be done!

Dear Puppy, we love you

I brought Kenny to the vet (again) today, he has been the on-going saga of squishy poop. I won't gross you out bore you with the details but at least one night a week none of us get any REM sleep. Good news, its probably not anything serious and I finally found a vet that I am comfortable with. Bad news, there is no quick fix.
Also Bruce thinks he might be able to finish the car this weekend!!
I'm pretty sure it took me longer to get him to sit still, look at the camera, wipe the nose prints off the lense and get one usable photo than it did to write this.

Busy little Bees

I've been spending max time at lab recently, which is actually max time Kenny Puppy can "hold it".  So I haven't done much by the way of projects. But while I'm not "holding it" I'm analyzing paint colors so I can match the paint in the half bath to the tile!

The bright white paint just doesn't do it for me with the tile, plus I think it makes the tile look dirty instead of "aged"
We had Bruce's family over for dinner Sunday night, while I have no good money savers for you (we had pizza) I made a lovely cheese plate on our new cheese slate. I have no idea if we are using this correctly, it was part of a house warming basket from our Real Estate agent.

I also got festive with a candy splurge for our "found" trinket tray.

Finally a photo of Kenny Puppy, under me with his head on my feet which are on the feet of my chair!

"Mooooom stop blogging and play with me!"

Projects and Progress

Maybe you've noticed the project tally I have going to the right, and it appears that there are a few things that are almost done but not.
The A4 - Bruce's deal, probably 3 or 4 more weekends.
The Half Bath - is painted white, except the tile is "antique" white, also know as tobacco stained white, I have three paint chips up and am trying to decide which one is the one. This also means that I'm vascillating about cleaning the tile first. The medicine cabinet needs some rehab and things need to be hung up.
The Master Closet - I'm in progress of making/finding some boxes to fit in my hanging shelves so that I can get rid of the plastic drawers that reside next to my dresser.
The Full Bath - the tile and grout really need to be cleaned, I'm dreading/procrastinating/avoiding it.
Things that aren't even started, I can't move the outlet and therefore can't move the fridge, our lab work isn't quite done so I haven't started writing yet, and the master curtains need tie backs and also magnets to keep the heat on the room side of the curtain, not the window side of the curtain
